What Advanced Math tests

Advanced Math is where the test starts asking whether you understand a form rather than a procedure. Knowing that vertex form hands you the minimum, that a factored quadratic hands you the roots, and that an exponential's base is the growth factor per period turns most of these questions into one-step reads. Students who instead expand everything into standard form and grind through it get the same answers slowly, and run out of time. The three skills here are broad on purpose — College Board groups them that way — so the practice below is where the specific forms get separated.
